Maldon pool prosecuted over death of Michelle Gellard, 7 | This is Essex: FOUR years after a seven-year-old girl drowned in a swimming pool in Maldon, the Health and Safety Executive has decided to bring criminal proceedings against the leisure centre responsible.
Michelle Gellard was spotted lying at the bottom of the pool at the Blackwater Leisure Centre in Park Drive on June 14, 2008. It is owned by Maldon District Council but run by subcontractor Leisure Connect Ltd.
