BC Ferries is still dealing with asbestos on several vessels

Two years after concerns were raised locally, BC Ferries is still dealing with asbestos on several vessels, including the Queen of Burnaby serving Comox and Powell River, as well as the North Island Princess sailing between Powell River and Texada Island.

In emails and reports unveiled through a Freedom of Information request, Manager of Occupational Safety and Health for BC Ferries, Kathleen Aslett indicated she has concerns about proper asbestos signage on the Burnaby, saying in an email "I am concerned re the decaling issue on the ship not reflecting the inventory report."
