'On the streets' roundup: 2 workers killed on job in January -Safety, Police & Fire - Waste & Recycling News: A 28-year-old garbage worker from Blossvale, N.Y., was killed Jan. 21 after being run over by his truck at a Utica, N.Y., transfer station.According to a report posted on the Utica Police Department's Facebook page, William Pope, who was working for Bliss Environmental Services Inc., was emptying a load at the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority in Utica when he realized he left the truck in gear.
